Job Description

The Dispatcher acts as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. This position receives requests, transmits messages, and tracks vehicles. This position must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. Dispatchers must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.

Job Duties

1. Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information 2. Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions 3. Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries 4. Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance 5. Use radio, phone, or computer to send crews, vehicles, or other field units to appropriate locations 6. Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule 7. Provide field units with information about both emergency and non-emergency calls, traffic, obstacles, and requirements 8. Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information 9. Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Valid NH Diver's license, Pass background check, Pass MV record check, superior reading and writing abilities in English, ability to multi-task, superior verbal communication skills
